Description: For the Baseball Hobbyist. . . The 1930s Baseball Player Postcard #11 - Myril Oliver Hoag, 1931-1938 New York Yankees ~ #013/100 A Numbered Limited Edition of just 100 issued by Photo File The 1930s Baseball really comes to life via this crystal clear 4" by 6" photo postcard, one of 20 issued by Photo File in 2018 to help promote gallery event by Andrew Aronstein, son of TCMA founder Michael Aronstein. The front features an unobstructed classic black and white photograph of a 1930s baseball star - although an occasional bit of photographer's notes may be viewed at the edges or other background scenery which TCMA back in 1972 would have cropped to fit its The 1930s two by three inch trading cards. These postcards were made from the original glass negatives of the era. The reverse identifies the player with his position, years of service and team affiliation (and official period logo) and postcard back design with The 1930's, MLB, Cooperstown Collection and Photo File logos at the bottom/right. Most significantly, the limited edition status (#XX / 100) is noted just above the individual card number. Again, just 100 examples of each card exists. This card is from the first of what may be multiple series of The 1930s postcards by Photo File. Photo File's earlier entries in MLB licensed photo postcards included a 20 card set of contemporary major leaguers in full color limited to 500 numbered sets produced in 2017 and an even more limited series of 4 Major League all-stars was issued in 2018. Just 100 each of those cards were manufactured. Now, The 1930s have been brought back to life! Condition: Near-Mint or better - check the high-resolution scans, front and back; this is the actual card the buyer will receive. A blue background has been supplied to assist in evaluating edges and corners. Baseball Hobby History This player was included in the 1972 TCMA The 1930s set in 2" by 3" size. However, a different pose was utilized than was employed to produce this postcard. It is card #79 in the TCMA set. _______________________ Important: Shipping Information Our goal has always been to keep shipping costs low.
