He warns about the dangers of sexual excess, but surprisingly does not believe that sex is not and is not supposed to be a pleasure for women, and disapproves of a man insisting that his wife submit to him whenever he wants. The sections on women's characteristics and intelligence, however, would seem cringe worthy to most modern women! The book was copyrighted in 1897, but I am not sure when this edition was published, It's the Commendations Edition, which has photo of prominent religious leaders, educators and doctors with quotes of them praising the book. There are also several pages noting that Stall's books are popular worldwide and translated in a number of languages. Stall(1847-1915) was a n American Lutheran pastor with a Doctor of Divinity degree. He wrote a number of books including more in this Sex and Self series, sermons and books on church administration, The book is splitting at the front, and has wear on the spine and edges of the cover. Page 31-32 is missing.
