Nice Shield Details. Nice detail in the Eagle. The date on these coins often wears away fast because it's a raised up part of the design without much protection against wear. As you can see from the picture, the date on this coin is still very nice. Please bid with confidence because I stand behind what I sell. THE BAD NEWS: This coin has damage all around the rim. The rim was flattened all around the coin. The result of this is that the reeds that would normally be on the rim are gone, the rims on both sides sit just a little higher than normal, and the diameter of the coin is just a little smaller. This coin will not stay in a classic 'push in' type coin album. If you have an album with sliding plastic that covers both sides of the coin, then it will be fine. Also has some scratches on the obverse. Sometimes things like this can be expected because these coins were used as real money long ago.
