Description: Francois Batet (1921-2015) was a Spanish painter and illustrator, best known for his work in illustrating childhood and youth literature at the Hachette publishing house. His favorite theme was the representation of female characters in the Art Deco style, like this one.This is a large lithograph that has been triple matted and professionally framed. Frame measures 35" width and 30" height. It illustrates two women in a cafe in 1920s fashion, a theme very representative of Francois Batet's work. This piece is signed Artist Proof and numbered 1/50. There are some dimples and tiny nicks on the frame. Please see photos carefully. Overall, this print is in excellent condition!
