Description: This is the 6d stamp used on is own paying a correct postal rate. The registration rate was 4d and the cost of a one ounce letter was 2d. The stamp is cancelled H O MAFEKING BECH. PROT. 18 November 1935. There is a further strike on the reverse. The cover has been slit oipen at the left leaving a crisp edge. NB the stamp is catalogued by SG at £14 and cover factor for genuine postal use is "from x10", so SG think this stamp is rare used on cover properly.I hope the general condition is apparent from the 600 dpi scan, but please do contact me with any queries.
