Description: 1950s FOLK ART JAMAICAN VINTAGE WORK KNIFE “MR GILBERT’S KNIFE” This knife belonged to our grandparents’ gardener/ handy man (Mr. Gilbert) in Jamaica. He took an old shell and bead dinner knife and fashioned a work knife out of it. Mr. Gilbert carried this knife every day he worked, from the 1950s until he retired in the 1990s. He used it to cut flowers to sell, to cut twine, and to whittle branches to make slingshots for us. This knife was like a part of him for 40+ years. - 6 3/4 inches long - 3/4 inches wide at widest - Nice wear and patina on the handle - Shell and bead design on the handle Please check out my other unique collectible items!!
