Description: Listed French Fresh Impressionist Artist Michel Viot (1924-2007) Signed, on lower right, this lovely 1960's Original Oil on Canvas, depicting a Nude Sea Nymph, in the water, but on top of a sea creature (or a giant leaf, like a lotus). Her body is flowing and erotic yet still discreet. She has a mavelously pointy seashell on her head and has a caring look in her eyes and on her face. Fascinating work! It has the light and delicate lines of a pencil/ink drawing but is beautifully rendered on canvas in oil. A well known and highly sought after artist, many of his works are on paper, making this canvas relatively rare. Color palette is quite interesting - a pastel-like mix of light blue/green/gray, with brown and white highlights throughout. There is more blue in the water and more green in the background but all differences are wonderfully subtle. There is a repair done, in the cloud, next to the subject (see 2nd & 3rd to last images for front and back view), but is difficult to see (and photograph) unless you are at an angle. Canvas measures 9 X 11 1/4 and is in Good condition w/ some blemishes around the edge - covered once framed. Please carefully examine all images for condition.
