It was made in 1977 before the figures came out as this item was rushed to market in time for Xmas 1977. The toy was already a existing item in the Kenner toy arsenal and they slapped some Star Wars stickers on it and boxed it for sale. The Vintage 1977 issue is the 1st version box with the SW logo and picture. The instructions are the non-traditional SW instructions as they are glossy paper. They are original and this item did NOT come with a catalog. This item was eventually pulled in 1979 to make way for better items in the toyline.The package has some wear and age but is UNCUT and still has the Proof of Purchase and flaps. There is a few cuts on the side of the box. The box has some wear and age on it. The radio is tested and WORKS and has the original stickers on it. The original foam is still intact and on both parts of the radio and headset ear piece. Its held up well and this also has the plastic mic intact. The mic is only for show and is not a working part. The battery cover and compartment are intact and very clean on this Working AM radio. This picks up channels and all knobs work. The only issue is a piece of the teeth lock on headset is broken off but is here.
