6 Gorgeous Bone China 6.25” Plates by COALPORT of England FLOWER OF TIBET

Description: This is a set of 6 absolutely gorgeous bone china plates, decorated with pink, blue, and yellow flowers. Just stunning. When you look at the pictures, there are 6 pictures in a row of each plate, it is not just the same plate over and over again! They are about 6 & 1/4 inches in diameter and were made in England by Coalport. Each plate weighs about 6.5 ounces. These plates are considered side plates, where during fancy dinners, they would be used to hold a folded napkin, as a bread and butter plate, an hors d’oeurves plate, or for a small treat or desert. They could be used during tea time for a treat to go with an afternoon cup of tea. The blue backstamp under the glaze is for the Coalport company and is the more recent backstamp. In 1967 the Wedgwood Group purchased Coalport China and they stopped all production under the Coalport name. The plates are smooth edged and simply elegant. They are in excellent vintage shape with no chips, cracks or crazing. One of the the plates has a few black specks on the very edge of the plate, that are either transfer marks, or are ash from the kiln. That can be seen in picture #18 where the plates are stacked, it’s the top plate. Looking at an angle to the light, I see very few utensil marks. What a set to have for a special treat like a holiday or celebration and then display! They could be used to serve cookies or a cupcake when having tea, or slice of cake for a birthday treat!
