Signed in green-ware state. This is a single piece from a series of about 100 pieces called "Facial Features" Mounting: Unframed, not mounted. This is a sturdy work in stoneware. Arrives well packed, shrink wrapped, ready to display. Style, notes, etc: A series of human faces, eyes, noses, mouths and ears. Please take a look at the entire series. "These were on my work table for about a year" states Ms. Peterson, "and invariably my friends would arranged them in seemingly endless ways that not only started a conversation, but made them laugh". One friend called them "Mr. Potato Head for the sophisticated adult". -- This one in particular is reminiscent of Eye of Providence on the US 1 Dollar Bill. The term occult sciences was used in the 16th century to refer to astrology, alchemy, and natural magic. Cathy Peterson has been working in hand built and designed ceramic works since July of 2016 She works in a weekly forum with other local ceramicists located in Ojai and Oak View California.
