Description: Straw flat hat with ribbon in a look that was popular historically in the 1770s. This particular hat is inspired by the colonial era and is similar to those worn by women during the Revolutionary War. This style is a nod to the hats worn by Felicity and Elizabeth in their historic doll collections made by Pleasant Company and American Girl. We at M&B Hobbies LLC are owned by a professional historian who researches colonial hats worn in America during the time period and has based this one off of the hats currently worn by staff at Colonial Williamsburg, a world-class historical site located in Virginia. It is made of synthetic straw and handsewn with red ribbon accents and ties. The hat sits forward on the doll’s head to block the sun out of her eyes, and ties losely underneath her mob cap at the base of her neck. Mob cap IS NOT INCLUDED! Like handmade hats of the era, this one will show some stitches on the underside. It is not meant to appear “perfect” or “machine made” as that would not be authentic. Please take note before buying.
