Description: An amazing primitive woven jacquard large long fragment circa aprox. 1830~ early linen and wool loom woven in a marvelous design floral and hearts. Very unique to find hues from this period, more pastel/muted/dusty tones. Not generally colors seen in early loomed jacquard. They would have been brighter originally but have mellowed over time. Rose and a lovely sage gray/green.The color I refer to as taupe has a lavender cast so may have been more purple. Very possibly vegetable dyes of this period or dyes that have gone "fugitive", when old dyes start to mute & mellow.This textile, lovely as it is, will overall be more primitive in nature. It will have an early distressed appeal. Some random wear to the fibers as I have tried to show in my photos. Inherent of early woolens. So will not be for everyone but quite special nonetheless.Excellent for projects or early displays that warrant a more primitive overall distressed patina. It is otherwise very strong and stable and clean so has been well preserved. It's beautiful imperfections created simply by time & elements over its many years.**Measures 23" wide by 39" long.
