Description: Absolutely beautiful copy of the original 1967 pressing of the complete Bach Christmas Oratorio conducted by Karl Münchinger and featuring the great Elly Ameling on London stereo 3-LP boxed set OSA-1386. I have listened to many, many recordings of this oratorio and this one for me is by far the best, recorded at a time when this music was first being treated with the historical care and reverence that it has today. It was new and exciting music in 1967 and Ameling was one of the first great voices of baroque music, really one of the greats. This copy is just beautiful as well. All three discs are very nearly perfectly mint and play completely flawlessly and just gorgeously. The box has a little wear, with a couple of torn corners, some tape on the edges, and a loosening hinge. But nonetheless it is still a beautiful box, still intact and quite nice. Both the inserts are included, one being a booklet with the libretto and some historic notes and info about the performance and performers. The other is the London Records opera catalog. Both are pristine. This is a top, top original copy of this masterpiece recording. Hard to top.
