Best St. Valentine's Day Massacre Bugs Moran Chicago Gangster War 1929 Newspaper

Description: Best St. Valentine's Day Massacre Bugs Moran Chicago Gangster War 1929 Newspaper Offered is an original, historic, & collectible old newspaper: CHICAGO DAILY TRIBUNE, March 8, 1929 * St. Valentine's Day Massacre investigations * George 'Bugs' Moran & Al 'Scarface' Capone * Best publication to be had - very rare as such The top of page 6 has a six column heading: "New York Police Join in Massacre Quiz; Link Chicago Gunmen with Gotham Killings" (see) Such reports are probably only reported in a Chicago publication, very rare as such. When it comes to gangsters, organized crime, and the nefarious activities born out of the Prohibition and Great Depression eras, no city is more in the forefront of our minds than Chicago - and what better newspaper can be found than the Chicago Tribune, self-proclaimed to be "The World's Greatest Newspaper" Complete with all 44 pages, rag edition in great condition. As a bit of background, Wikipedia notes: "The St. Valentine's Day Massacre was the murder of seven members and associates of Chicago's North Side Gang. The men were gathered at a Lincoln Park garage on the morning of Valentine's Day where they were made to line up against a wall and shot by four unknown assailants. The incident resulted from the struggle between the Irish North Siders and their Italian South Side rivals, led by Al Capone, to control organized crime in the city during Prohibition. Though the perpetrators have not been conclusively identified, former members of the Egan's Rats gang, working for Capone, are suspected of a significant role as are members of the Chicago Police Department who are said to have had personal revenge as their motive following the killing of a police officer's son." Please Note: All of our offerings are 100% authentic! We do not offer reprints or reproductions of any kind. They are guaranteed to be original! Links to Archival Storage Options & Certificates of Authenticity Are Below! Historical reports may be beautiful or ugly, but they are always informative. While we rejoice in the beautiful (heroic, discovery, amazing feats, etc.), we at Historys Newsstand also offer "the ugly" for we are determined to learn from the wrongs of the past - understanding, to do so, we must be willing to look these wrongs directly in the face and shout "NO MORE!". It is for this reason many Black Americans collect historic slave ads, Jews collect reports regarding the Holocaust, women collect coverage of the Womens Suffrage Movement, etc.. If you find any to be offensive, we agree! Hopefully this is an indication we are moving in the right direction. Domestic Shipping Policy... For this specific item, A U.S. winner pays $10.00 S&H.
