Description: The mountains in this original oil painting are located in Central Oregon, just outside of Bend. I have climbed the Three Sisters Mountains. There is nothing very technical about this climb, it is more of a strenuous and very long hike (depending upon where you begin). It took our group 12 1/2 hours round trip (the tallest of the three). What is absolutely amazing is the view. It is glorious and a bit of Heaven on Earth. It is also well traversed, with many groups of climbers trekking up and down. The river is the Metolius, as it bends and courses through the landscape. The landscape is vast... If the summet is clear, there is also a sense of history as you look into the far distance and imagine those who first came to the Oregon Territory, and tamed the land with force of will and human strength.
