Description: This camisole, or corset cover, was part of a trousseau, as indicated by the attached note "Corset Cover worn by Mother for her Wedding".Beautiful pleating and wide Alencon lace was used to decorate the neckline and cap sleeves. The armsceyes are piped, it fastens with pearl buttons. There is an inked name on the back, which I read as "Ida McK 3, the bottom line is illegible. This is similar to the inked name on a handkerchief I have listed this week. Please see my listing titled "Four Lacy Handkerchiefs" if you want to view it. Just click "See Seller's Other Items". Very crisp, and most likely from the 1870's or 1880's, looking at the pleating and piped cap sleeves. It measures 16" across at the bust, 12" at the waist.Very good condition, with some underarm discoloration, a few small spots elsewhere.
