The bottom plate is 3/16", and the top plate is 14 Gauge for a total of over 1/4" of metal thickness. Hand grips for riders, and holes for ratchet straps. Simply remove the 4 tabs from the rear, place the rack on, and re-use factory hardware to secure. Very easy to install. Includes Pelican Storage Box as shown in photos.
