Description: A wonderful antique Victorian solid 9k rose gold amethyst, pearl and hair floral mourning ring, dating to circa 1870. This exquisite antique Victorian solid 9k rose gold mourning ring is in the form of a beautiful flower with a central bezel-set round faceted foiled back natural amethyst which glows and glitters a lovely light lilac purple in the light, the amethyst surrounded with a halo of 13 pretty prong-set glowing white oval seed pearls, the flower attached to a wide warm rose gold band which is surrounded with beautifully and very tightly braided interwoven hair set into a channel setting for protection-just fabulous and a very nice survivor! The ring is unmarked and tests for 9k gold. The ring measures approximately a size 8. The flower measures about 9mm across. The amethyst measures approximately 4.5mm across and the pearls about 2mm long. The band is about 7mm wide, the hair is about 5mm wide. The ring rises approximately 3.5mm above the finger and weighs about 2.5 grams. The ring is in excellent condition with all over light general wear. The amethyst and pearls are in wonderful condition as is the hair which is in superb condition with only very light wear. Thanks for looking and please take a look at my other items!
