Description: This royal replica is inspired by the Duchess of Cambridge pearl drop brooch. Our version is smaller than the original Length: 4.5 Centimetres Width: 2.2 Centimetres. It's made from Rhodium plated copper featuring Cubic Zirconia Diamonds and natural freshwater Pearls. It is believed to date back to the nineteenth century, where it was crafted by the London-based jeweller Garrard. The brooch was originally created to honour Princess Augusta of Hesse-Kessel, who was born in Germany in 1797. The Princess became Duchess of Cambridge after marrying Prince Adolphus, the Duke of Cambridge, at Buckingham Palace in 1818. After her death the brooch was passed down through the royal family, and eventually gifted to the Queen by her grandmother, Queen Mary, in 1953.
