Postage stamps depict the colorful and diverse maritime world, which is currently suffering due to hostilities and the scrapping of warships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. The bright East Atlantic peafowl, Symphodus tinca, featured on one of the EUROPA 2024 stamps, is a marine fish that lives between 1 and 50 meters deep. The color of the fish depends on its place of residence, and males are much brighter than females, especially during the breeding season. Fish with a length of 10.5-14 cm are usually found near the coast of Crimea. The second stamp depicts the largest representative of Black Sea crabs - the warty crab Eriphia verrucosa.
