Description: Franciscan Earthenware TULIP TIME Patter 7 Piece Place Setting Dinner PlateBread PlateSalad PlateSoup BowlDessert BowlCup Saucer Very good vintage condtion. The dinner plate presents the most wear with several utensil marks on the face of the plate. There is a hairline crack in the mug that runs from the rim to the bottom flat area and the handle appears to have been repaired/ reattached to the mug. The Saucer could be mistaken for new. The small bowl has some light utensil marks inside and some slightly darker scuffing around the rim. The large bowl has some light utensil marks inside and a light stain near the smaller bottom right tulip. It also has a dark mark on the outter edge of the bowl. The small dessert plate has light utensil marks on the face. The middle sized plate (salad plate) could be mistaken for new. There is some very light color variation between some dishes and may not all be from the exact same time of manufacture, but they are all made between 1963 and 1974.Franciscan Ware was produced at the Glendale (later Los Angeles) plant, which began life as the Pacific Art Tile Co. in 1902. Gladding-McBean chose the name "Franciscan," feeling it was symbolic of California's early history. Production of Franciscan earthenware ceramics with its brilliant glazed colors began in 1934. Franciscan china was introduced in 1942. Buyer to note that not all vintage cermics meet modern requirements for food usage. IN6203sh
