A: There are several reasons why we don't use zinc. 1. Zinc plating is applied at the end of the manufacturing process. This can cause disc thickness variation. 2. Zinc plating does not last very long. Most wheel cleaners will remove zinc plating so if you choose to use zinc plated rotors please read your wheel cleaner labels carefully. 3. Zinc plating can form deposits in the friction material and cause braking issues like vibration or fade. 4.
