Description: *** November 10th revision Okay I give up. I'm knocking these down another $25. I've obviously overpriced them for the market. They're getting lots of looks and no bites, so here we go. $125 for these excellent boots. ***November 5th revision. I've had these boots in my store for just a couple of weeks. They are getting a lot of looks but nobody's buying at $200. I realize there are lot of competition and lots of Frye boots on eBay so I've decided to mark them down to $150. I think they're a great buy at $200 and an even better buy at $150 ***This is the original description The Harness 12R is the flagship of Frye's line of boots. I'm not an expert, but I seriously doubt that it has never been out of production. When I got this pair they were totally flattened and dusty, looking like they've been in the bottom of a pile of shoes in somebody's closet for 10 years. I do not know how old they are. The boots are obviously unworn, which I find incredible. Who would buy an expensive pair of boots and never wear them? These boots are in almost every way exactly like the Harness 12R 160th Edition that is available on the Frye website for $598. Subtle differences that are apparent to me are that the hardware on these is not shiny gold brass. The sole is a tiny bit different as on the current version it is built up a little bit starting at the insole. The heel is the same height and the toes are just as square. To me, this pair looks like the top opening is a little bit bigger than on the current model. It measures 16 in around. The height of 12" from the bottom of the heel to the top of the boot is the same and so is the 1 1/2" thickness of the heel. Frye does not show the soles on the website of the current boots. I took a picture of the heel and instep of these boots. The maker of the heel is Builtrite. I'm sure there are folks with more knowledge out there who would know exactly when these boots were made. All I have done with them is give them a light saddle soaping to get the dust off, stuff them with some newspaper to unflatten them, and brush them with a shoe brush. Then I took pictures and put them in my eBay store for all the world to see!
