A full 1 and 1/2 inches broad at the forte. The blade well forged with visible striation near the forte. Wide central flat extending the full length of the blade to the point (rounded). The hilt of classic Spanish colonial “Bilbao” form with upswept and down turned quillions. The copper wrapped grip of classic quatrefoil section with steel strap dividers. Solid iron “Turk’s Heads”. D-guard and onion form pommel. Conditon of grip and hilt is excellent and sword has never been dismounted and is exceptionally tight and still ready for combat. Blade is crisp with some light staining towards point. At 43 inches overall this is a most impressive classic Spanish colonial broadsword. * Please refer to the photographs of this item when assessing its condition.
