Description: Hallicrafters Model SX-110, Shortwave Receiver, AC, 8 tubes, 18.5" Wide, 10" Deep, 8" Tall, 31 pounds. The Hallicrafters SX-110 receiver was manufactured from 1960 to 1963 with bands covering 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10 meter amateur bands, 11 meters citizen's band, broadcast band 540 - 1680 kc plus 3 shortwave bands covering 1680 hz - 34 mc. Features include a slide rule band spread dial calibrated for the amateur bands, separate band spread tuning condenser, crystal filter, antenna trimmer, S-meter, one r-f and two i.f. stages. It has seven tubes plus one rectifier. It sold for $160 - $170.00 new. The receiver has been repaired, aligned and tested by Tom's Antique Radio Repair, All signal and power supply capacitors have been replaced, tubes tested, resistors tested, and new dial strings. The markings on the original dial glass were flaking off and I bought a replacement through Radio Daze. It looks as good or better than the original. I buy Hallicrafters radios that nobody wants and fix them up because they are great radios. This is the 2nd SX-110 that I have done. The case was mostly rusted and was sanded and repainted. This radio has been tested for over 20 continuous hours to make sure that it will last a long time for you. The signal meter works ok but not as good as it should. I could not find a replacement. This does not affect the operation of the radio as you really do not need it. Maybe someone will have one that works better. This is a fine looking and working Shortwave radio. The reception and sound is one of the best.Because of its weight, FEDEX is recommended for shipping.
