Description: This is a vintage antique sample of barbed wire fencing. This sample features an Edwin Havenhill patent, dated July 02, 1878. This wire is called "Havenhill's Three Point Vee Barb" by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 656-B). This wire features two round line wires twisted together. Barbs are three pointed cut into a VEE with on line at inside bottom of VEE two ends bent over to lock first line and second line laid through crossed over barb ends. Wire sample is 18" in length and shows light to moderate pitting. There are three barbs. Barbs are well spaced and cut is well centered. There are no bent, broken, or missing barbing points.
