First awarded in 1953 to commemorate 15 years of service, the award later went on to be awarded only to senior officers. Only a little less than 15,000 were awarded. 2. Medal of Merit for Service to the Homeland, Class 2. Awarded to military, state security, public service, and civilians for diligent and exemplary work to benefit the nation. 3. Medal for 10 Years of Exemplary Service. Awarded for ten years of active duty without serious incident.
