Large Black Walnut Cutting Board Charcuterie Wood Blank

Description: This is a large black walnut cutting board blank. I call it a "blank" because it's not finished yet. If you have a family member, loved one, or friend that you would like to give a cutting board, then this listing is for you. This cutting board, is in the shape of a large meat cleaver, as you can see in the pictures. The large faces are nice and smooth, but the edges still need some sanding, and the circle cut-out on the handle, needs some sanding. If it were me, I'd also use my hand router, or a hand sanding block, and round over the edges. By doing this, and then applying one or two coats of finish, you can actually say you made this as your own personal gift to someone special. All I've done is procured the wood, and cut out the shape for you. It's up to you to finalize the gift. Once you're done with it, it is easily worth $150 - $200. Figured, wide, walnut, is very hard to come by, and very, very expensive. This is not your normal piece of walnut. First of all, look at the size of this thing. This is NOT made up of several strips of boards, all glued together. This is from one large, kiln dry board that I got from my Amish neighbor. It is solid black walnut, a full inch in thickness, from Wisconsin. The pictures show the width and length of this stunning board, and please notice the stunning grain and figure. Both sides are shown, and I put a light coat of cutting board oil on each side, to show you how it will look once you finish sanding the edges, and apply another coat or two, before you gift it, or place in your own kitchen.
