I hand selected the gray leather in this cover specifically for its distressed look, it reminds me of an 18th century journal. This leather will scratch and patina with regular use causing an even greater beautiful distressed look in the future. The signature fold over flap is what makes all of my books one-of-a-kind and impossible to duplicate. I carefully select from the rough edge of the leather and cut the book inward to achieve a fold over flap that is imperfectly perfect for the perfectly imperfect recovering alcoholic or addict.
