Sadly, the Marushin factory burned down and the company is no longer in business. This model was sold in both kit and factory-built versions. This is a factory-built example. The kit version was sold as just the engine and the motor unit and sound unit were sold separately. The Factory-built version comes preassembled on the motor unit and the motor unit is silver, rather than black (as used on the optional version). The sound unit, which is included with this listing, is extremely rare - near impossible to find. The motor unit makes the engine operational and includes a throttle grip for revving the engine from idle to full rpm. Valve, cam, piston, connecting rod and pushrod action can be seen with the valve covers removed. The Sound Effector brings a whole new level of realism and enjoyment. The Sound Effector has its own speaker and volume control or the unit could be connected to a larger speaker and amplifier for even greater sound quality.
