Description: Metropolitan MAGAZINE Journal of Literature Washington Centennial 1889 Vintage May, 1889, Issue of "The Metropolitan Journal of Popular Literature" features the Washington Centennial. Most pages have advertising along side the magazine stories. Back cover advertises Warner's Safe-Cure; also several smaller interior ads for Warner products, including Log Cabin Sarsaparilla. About 11" x 8". All pages have age toning. Front cover has darker age toning around the edge. Upper right side of cover page has some paper extended, where it did not cut right originally; first interior page at same area has paper missing. Spine has split up from the bottom about 1 1/4". Back cover also has darker age toning around the edge. Also a strip of paper cover some area from top to bottom. Bottom edge an spine corner have roughness.
