CONTACT US with any questions! 804 23 9 549 0 Item Description: This is a RARE example of an original WWII Japanese officers Presentation Parade Saber from World War 2. The sword was presented to a high ranking officer for winning a shooting competition. The blade and the mountings are in Near MINT condition. The blade is 27.25 inches long (69cm) and features a kogarasumaru shape with bo-hi, or fullers, on both sides. The blade also has an etched gunome hamon of peaks. The blade features a very rare inscription on it, stating Meiji Shi Jyu Ichi Nen Eisei Dai Shageki Hui Shang which translates to an ‘award from the military university shooting meet, 1908’. The ricasso is also inscribed with the kanji Sakai. This sword was presented to an officer for winning a shooting competition. The sword is in overall Near MINT condition showing no nicks, very few small scratches, and very few small spots of rust. The mountings are in Near MINT condition. The scabbard is chrome metal and shows a couple small dents and a few scattered small spots of missing finish, retaining roughly 96-98% original finish. The handle is in Near MINT condition. The backstrap of the handle shows extensive decoration of sakura cherry blossoms. The handle shows all wire wrappings present. The handle also shows a nice patina. I think this rare Presentation parade sword would be an outstanding addition for a collection of WW2 militaria or Japanese swords. Terms and additional items: This item is original and not a fake.
