The Buffalo Sabres even created a "Dream Big" scholarship fund in his name after his death. The back of the hat says "MONTY" which is how people often referred to him because it's short for Montador. However, I'm not an expert, and I haven't been able to find any online references to this rare hat. With that in mind, my speculation on the connection to that hockey player could be incorrect.
