Description: W.H. Cundy arrived in Boston in 1855 and started a music publishing and woodwind instrument retailing business. Harry Bettoney (1867-1953) an immigrant from Oadby in Leicestershire, England, joined Cundy's firm in 1893 and oversaw the founding and growth of the Cundy-Bettoney woodwind instrument manufacturing company. Cundy-Bettoney started around 1900, shortly before Cundy's retirement in 1907, was at its peak between 1920 and 1940, and closed in 1962 This rare BC Cadet wood clarinet has been fully restored. Brand new high quality leather pads were used on this collectors item. Corks are all newly installed. Lower keys show signs of wear. Original neck piece and bell are resonite, while the body is a Grenadilla wood. It comes with a mouthpiece and original case. It is suitable for players of all experience levels, whether you are an advanced, beginner, professional or expert. Vintage Boston made American steel pins and keys.
