Description: Leroy Neiman( 6/8/1921-6/20/2012, Saint Paul, Minnesota), An authentic and rare serigraph hand signed and numbered in pencil by Leroy Neiman. There was no women's weightlifting competition at the 1972 Olympics. Alekseyev captured the gold medal in the heavyweight weightlifting.Called a "Soviet sports legend" by the Russian Weightlifting Federation, and "one of the strongest people in the world", Alekseyev set 80 world records and 81 Soviet records in weightlifting and also won the gold at the 1976 Summer Olympics. The words "Wassili Alekejew" is an alternate spelling of Alekseyev's name. This serigraph is number 216 of an edition of 250 (216/250). The frame measures approximately 20 inches X 24 inches. Image 13 inches X 17 inches.
