I would like to point out that during the period of 20-40 years ago printer's proofs were being sold and traded to dealers and friends by printer's employees. I am sure that is why some of the variations in posters from the 70's through into the 90's, I have first hand experience of that fact. Currently before a poster is printed in large quantities, the printer would first print a limited number of posters as "proof" posters. The printers would look over these proofs and make corrections as to color or cropping issues. They would next print a new proof, and sometimes a series of proofs were needed before a final "approved" version was done. Once the final proof was printed, they would then print a number of "printer's test" posters which would then be distributed to everyone connected to the project, so that they could "sign off on it".
