Description: RARE 1876-1880s VICTOR Homer Laughlin White Ironstone Chamber Pot / Combinet with Handle / Flower Pot with Eagle-Over-Lion Premium Stone China original Homer Laughlin backstamp! Anything of the Laughlin China Co. from the very early years is difficult to find! This White ironstone child size chamber pot definitely qualifies! Could also be used as a great Flower Pot / Farmhouse Planter or Decor - beautiful antique piece! Love the plain crisp white farm house look! An excellent one to display and use. NOTE: We have two of these chamber pots - but they have different sized backstamps on the bottom. See the last picture for comparison. This one has the larger of the two backstamps and is the standard size! This one is more detailed and likely the one that was meant for this piece. Many Victor items were made in plain white-ware, which today is the perfect cottage, farmhouse, country house home decor! The backstamp is the original Homer Laughlin backstamp: 'Eagle-over-Lion' mark over Premium Stone China Homer Laughlin The Victor shape was the first produced line by the Homer Laughlin China Company in the late 1870's and early 1880s. The ironstone line was usually marked with the eagle over lion backstamp shown which promotes ware as, "Premium Stone China." Victor is a rare example of a shape with both table ware and toilet ware. The assortment becomes even more eclectic with leaf dishes, compotes and soap holders. There are two types of finials; the open, fluted style (which matches the handles) and the closed, ornate version. This chamber pot is on smaller size for these type of dishes as it was likely for a child - measures approximately 8" in diameter including handle, 4" in height. Condition: Very good to excellent antique condition. No chips or cracks. Normal under the glaze crazing that is simply stunning for this relic. Has a factory mold flaw on the base of the dry foot. Some small factory production imperfections such as sand bumps, glaze pops, glaze misses - all normal factory production. Excellent condition for this rare antique piece.
