Description: Up for sale is a rare vintage Cresta table hockey game manufactured in Toronto, Ontario in the mid 50’s. The game was originally introduced in Sweden in the 30’s. Aristospel A.B. of Stockholm manufactured the game which eventually was sold to several European countries. Not until 1954 would a Canadian company (Cresta Limited of Toronto) introduce and manufacture the Swedish style game. This spring driven game measures approximately 27 3/4 inches in length, 18 3/4 inches in width and 2 3/4 inches in height. The game comes with the original box, pair of metal nets, 2 complete metal teams Toronto (Blue & White) and Montreal (Red & White) with 5 players and a goalie per team and puck. Missing are the pair of wooden score pegs, very common. The game has recently been restored by John Dasilva (Hamilton, Ontario). The restoration included removing all rods from the game and cleaning them thoroughly including the springs and metal sliding brackets. See pictures before and after showing how much rust was removed. Also the playing surface was cleaned, rust removed off the chrome end boards, and new reproduction brown rod knobs installed. Missing screws on the backside of the brown masonite have been replaced with new 3/4 inch No 4 yellow Robertson wood screws. One of 4 rubber feet attached to the wood slats located on the underside was missing and a similar design black one has been installed. The original chrome plated metal nets are in great shape and operate perfectly when opening and closing. All rods are straight and and operate as intended. Metal teams are in very good condition with very minor signs of paint wear and rust on players sticks. Some minor yellow discolouration is visible on the playing surface (see pictures). Overall the playing surface is in excellent condition, level with a minimal amount of paint wear considering the age of 70 years.
