Description: This is a really gorgeous table chip with a coin center in excellent condition, appearing almost new. $25 value, house mold. The $5 million Hotel Sahara opened on October 7, 1952, with an African Sahara theme. Attendees to the grand opening included Ray Bolger and Gus Greenbaum. It was the sixth resort to open on the Las Vegas Strip. Max Maltzman was the architect, and Ragnar Qvale was the interior designer. The Sahara utilized a modern and simple design. The North African desert theme was conveyed only minimally in the Sahara's architecture. Outside, the only depiction of the theme consisted of fake camels and Arabian people. The interior included statues of Arab guards. Numerous performers have entertained at the resort over the years, including Buddy Hackett, Liberace, Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy, George Burns, and Sammy Davis Jr. Other performers included Bobby Darin, Red Skelton, Ann Blyth, Martha Raye, Liza Minnelli, Donald O'Connor, Louis Prima, Kathryn Grayson, Mae West, Jack Benny, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Ann-Margret, George Carlin, Tina Turner, and drag queen Kenny Kerr. =========================================================== PLEASE READ REGARDING CONDITION AND BUSINESS BLAH BLAH BLAH: Please look closely at the photographs. All my chips come in a protective coin case so there will be no damage. I have attempted to give accurate information regarding condition and to disclose any defects, stains, etc. I take plenty of pictures to give you an accurate idea of condition. Please look at the pictures! I typically take side 1, side 2, edge and in protective case pictures. My own personal condition rating is what you see, and it’s based upon the Chip Rack’s condition rating system. Keep in mind that condition is in the eyes of the collector, so look closely at the photographs. If you are unhappy with a chip, I will refund your purchase price upon return.
