Sansui SE-7 Ten-band Graphic Equalizer . Rare Vintage Find!

Description: Offering a piece of Sansui legacy, the se-7 with its original extremely sought-after rack-handles that is synonymous with Sansui’s signature superb quality products back in the day when analog ruled the world and audio manufacturers compete for high-fidelity supremacy but spared no expense for style and looks. Prior to posting, the specimen presented here was a casualty of a modernized digital-transition upgrade…or downgrade, depending on your subjective perspective of a superior sound, and the se-7 was put out of commission for years in a dark storage somewhere until recently when I performed the following: deoxit, detailed clean every crevice every line, buffed & some retouching was also applied in the process, replaced power pilot lamp with LED. One of the rack handles had a chip at the corner that I also created a prosthetic fix if you will and appears complete. Finally, observe the new, oversized silver faders that might as well be custom-made because they’re perfectly fit as if meant to be and rather look majestic! Bench-tested and passed with flying colors. The hours invested alone on the refurbishing project is perhaps worth more than its value, so don’t deny yourself the opportunity in acquiring a true relic of analog magic! Relive the Sansui classic. Also up-for-grabs: 1. That 80’s sound! For sale is a piece of transistorized history when analog once dominated the audio world and sounded amazing back then and even sounds better “uncompressed” today! The Sansui SC-1110 (photos 2 -to-7, $950) The specimen featured here was part of a personal collection during my Disc-jockey days and seldom used just locked in a time-capsule-like rugged shell of professionally custom-fit road case I built that may be purchased separately if desired. Included is a decent shape original tape transport dust cover as shown with cool red sticker. Bottom unit in the case not included. A remnant of a much coveted, rarely seen, way superior fidelity from earlier Sansui line of decks. The SC-1110 is synonymous to Sansui’s imposing, rugged industrial design appearance with its signature standard 19” rack-mount handles is beyond compare and truly something to behold...simply gorgeous! Prior to listing, hours invested in restoring this classic machine back to its glory days of near perfect specifications. Including but not limited to: Capstan plus other belts replaced new, adjusted speed, lubricated all moving parts, deoxit electronic controls, cleaned & demagnetized head stack. Buffed & detailed-clean every crevice every line, exterior cosmetics with some retouching involved in the refurbishing process. Bench tested & passed with flying colors, all functions respond as expected ready to integrate in any existing equally unique or esoteric sound system. Like any vintage gear, there may be some inconspicuous cosmetic imperfections due to age, stacking, moving etc are almost always present but in no way impede with normal operation as described. Shipping & handling may vary on location. 2. A rare cool-looking, built like a tank Braun c1 cassette deck is in excellent working order (photos 8-to-10, $750) This classic neo-modern design C1 features a unique front tape-loading capability similar to those of cd transports. Prior to posting, the unit has been fully checked, belt replaced, cleaned and good to go! 3. Recently refurbished and fully functional highly desirable only dual cassette player/recorder Aiwa wx-220 (photos 11-to-14, $750) equipped with a unique DJ mixing capability never before featured on any other dual decks that I have ever encountered with an effective separate output A/B faders and individual pre-monitoring feature! Such a plethora of special functions to satisfy any demanding user such as normal and high-speed dubbing, programable music search, bias adjustment just to name a few. The WX-220 is robustly built and well-packed in research & design put into its technology ahead-of-its-time back in the day! It's all you need for capturing that missing body of warmth sound character unattainable by the ubiquitous ones and zeros counterpart. One of my personal project. Prior to posting, countless hours spent given a 20 point tune up by opening the machine layer by layer, board by board. it's fitted with new longer-lasting compatible capstan belt-specification for both A&B tape transports and the mechanical counter as well. Head-block and tape-path demagnetized, buffed and detailed clean every crevice every line to free from dusts. Furthermore, lubrication and deoxit all knobs & controls, including many pertinent connections, majority of electronics and moving parts where necessarily important to ensure proper contact, static free and smooth operation with even some retouching involved in the process. All buttons work as expected. It is worth having this indispensable Aiwa machine around in any audio or video environment to add substantial life to any cold masterings that perhaps only a pleasing saturation of a tape can ever deliver. I have done literally endless projects with these machines back in the day and I can't endorse them enough for its reliability and unsurpassed sound. Am luvin' the analog even more so today in the culture domain of compressed, non-linear virtual recordings. Anecdotally, IMHO, any tape based format recordings, digital (DAT) or analog will deliver a far sonic superiority. It even stands its ground in digital transfers. Albeit, our affinity to Analog is simply.."still" we are all "Analog People" after all living in an evolving tech world of..."digital"! As a stereo tape playback this is an amazing value enough to justify its staple purpose in any home based or pro studio environment alike..don't missed out on this opportunity to own it! I'm an audio engineer, dj, a/v tech, an electronic hobbyist and perhaps a purveyor of all things analog. I have refurbished, repaired, modified and worked on many vintage gears and some current ones for my personal hi-fi and pro collection. Time is irrelevant when I would sometimes spend up to 80 hours literally just for a single project alone..and don't get paid by the hour either..it's what I do and comes with the territory. The kind of work I do will reflect the quality end result of each particular item..so buy with confidence even just for the time and labor invested in this amazing machine is surely worth it. Bench tested and passed with flying colors and ready to put back in service once again by a new found user. The WS-220 is no longer in production and becoming a hard commodity and very sought after due to it's high quality result of any studio or live recording project and ease of use that is still relevant in digital culture of today! The front facet although in excellent shape, the top cover has some obvious but minimal rash due to years of stacking and moving around. Like most vintages some superficial imperfections are almost expected and trace of wisdom is apparent but in no way impede normal functionality and will be hard pressed to find another in this state of condition. Shipping may vary on location. Post Script:Ideal for serious incurable collector or purveyor of all things analog, unique and in short supply with intent to build a showroom, I would consider to sell to the eligible buyer, a once in a life time find some of the rarest extremely sought after cornucopia of Vintage, Hi-Fi, DJ, A/V and Pro gears in a single Collection anywhere. Exceeding decades of tracking-down and literally thousands of man-hours invested in refurbishing, restoring, repairing these amazing electronic wonders to accumulate such magnificent concentration of historical analog importance you've ever seen! Some are new, used and few are part of my on going passion in what I do. Nonetheless, all has given equal meticulous attention and care to arrive in the integrity they once were and will be hard pressed not to admire aesthetically. I baby all my gears more than anyone I know :-)) and pictures don't do justice but reflect what you see. There simply is too much to itemize at once as I continue to build up the extensive inventory-list and pertinent details of what's included in the sale. Items condition that will be revised as they become available and selling price will be adjusted accordingly. Included but not limited to are Otari 5050 reel to reel (2X), Fostex, Teac 3440, Teac x1000r, Tascam 32 and other professional grade open decks, Nakamichi, Aiwa cassette players and other recording formats.
