Description: George Eliot SILAS MARNER Collector's Edition 1st Printing Pocket Books Inc Hardback Book This Collector's Edition of George Eliot's literary classic Silas Marner was included in Easton Press's 100 Greatest Books Ever Written. The story tells of the life of Silas Marner, who is a simple weaver. He was accused of theft in his original religious community, the Lantern Yard, so he moved to Raveloe. He kept to himself for 15 years, but after his gold was stolen and he adopted an orphan child, Eppie, he became an integral part of the community. It is superbly printed and beautifully bound and comprises the fine star chival-quality paper that has been radiantly gilded. The spine is elegantly titled in 22kt gold, and it includes Smyth-sewn pages, moiré fabric end sheets, and a satin ribbon marker. Good Condition with wear around the edges. Not bad for an older book. The pages are good, the pages are in very good condition, and the binding is all intact. One page has small tear (see photo) It is from a non-pet and smoke-free environment. All purchases must be paid within three days, or they will relist automatically.
