The piece was done for a promotional comic book advertisement that appeared in Entertainment Weekly in 2004. Story and illustrations by me, Joe St.Pierre. EIGHT pieces in all! FEATURES This page was part of an advertising campaign by Discovery Channel and Animal Planet to promote a week of Steve Irwin the CROC HUNTER specials. It appeared as a comic book insert which was bound into each copy of the June 11, 2004 edition of ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY. The art measures roughly 8 ½” x 14.” This lot also includes the conceptual sketches made that led to the final art. A nice look into the process! There are seven sketches total, all pen and ink on vellum. They measure from 7” x 10 3/4” to 10 3/4” x 14” in size. CONDITION The page is in great shape overall, still bright white. Steve’s face and neck is a revision done on a separate piece of vellum at the time, and pasted to the art. There is a bit of white-out here and there. The sketched layouts are in great shape as well. A couple have irregular edges, but that’s it. Check out the scans. POSTAGE & HANDLING Postage is FREE in the US, sent via priority mail. I WILL SELL WORLDWIDE.
