Description: This stunning black cocktail dress, from SUSAN SMALL of London, is a true vintage gem. Made in England, circa late 1950s/60s, with a sleeveless design and a pleated, tiered cape collar which comes across the shoulders to create a cap sleeve look. The dress is approx knee-length, with a slightly flared, A-line pleated skirt and a cummerbund sash to accentuate the waistline. Great quality fabric which is thick and holds its shape well - possibly rayon or thick silk but pre-dates composition labels, so I'm unsure of the exact material, with rear zip closure. I think the collar is probably nylon or similar. Ideal for a party, prom, black-tie event or special occasion.
