Description: Here's an unusual chip carved tramp art octagonal bowl. Each of the 8 outside panels have alternating applied diamond and circular shapes in the center. All 8 feet are intact. Many of this type of tramp art pieces are constructed from recycled cigar boxes as evidenced by the cigar label on the bottom. I believe the floral pattern fabric lining the inside of the bowl is chintz. Possibly this vessel was used for sewing items but frankly, it can be used for anything ! The bowl is 7 to 7.25 inches wide X 3.25 inches high X about 2.75 inches deep. The finish and condition is untouched and as found original. For some reason one side or facet is darker than the others as you can see in the pictures. I'm always pleased to find uncommon forms in chip carved tramp art.
