These notes were cargo on a ship from the printer, Bradbury Wilkinson in England when the ship was bombed by the Germans near the port of Piraeus, Greece during World War II. The Greeks were able to retrieve the notes as the ship was sinking but all suffered some water damage. The Turkish Government cancelled the issue.This note shows some minor ink offset on the back only. The note has crisp paper, even margins and vivid color. It faces up as CU.
