Description: You are bidding on this great old book, titled Types of World Literature, edited by Percy Hazen Houston, Ph.D. and Robert Metcalf Smith, Ph.D. It is a first edition with a copyright date of 1930, and was published by Doubleday, Doran & Company, Inc. It is a hard cover book, and, unfortunately, is only in fair condition. The cover is very faded, with a lot of wear and tearing at the corners and edges. The outer spine is also quite torn and is coming apart at the top and bottom edges. The binding is holding, and all 1200 pages including index are intact and in good condition, although yellowed with age. There are some handwritten comments, and marks within the book in various places, and there are some small tears on some of the pages as well. It is a nice old book, probably a textbook, and is a wonderful example of different types of literature from all over the world, including some well-known authors like John Milton and Walter Scott. The book is signed by Mr. Houston, one of the editors, on the first page inside the front cover. It is a very nice old first edition book and would be a wonderful addition to any library.
