"Copy Right Secured," but there is no actual stated date of publication. The most recent date in a couple of the ads and testimonials is 1858. The book is a guide to Spencerian calligraphy and drawing with numerous examples. Beautiful examples. Each page is printed on one side only. Condition is good. The red boards are soiled and worn , but the titles are readable. All page edges are gilded. The binding is sound. The front endpaper has what may have been intended writing or was written in after.
