All are healthy and ready to grow!!*** The Dwarf Super plantain! This is a full size fruit plantain on a dwarf plant that only grows 6 to 8 feet tall! They very hard to find for sale. The bunches have 8 to 12 hands and can be 50 to 80 pounds. They have a nice yellow flesh with a great solid texture that is perfect for frying or boiling. If you want sweet plantains these are very good tasting when left to fully ripen. I love! to roast these whole on the grill, then eat them with cinnamon & maybe some ice cream!!! The plants are cold tolerant right down to freezing. They need lots of good compost to grow their large fruits, but they can take drier soil if needs be.
