Description: Vintage French royalty portrait plate set. - Features antique portraits of two 18th century royals, Louis XVI and the Duchesse de Montpensier with deep blue base and decorative scrolled and floral border - Hand applied gilt highlights in geometric and leaf designs - Stamped with maker's mark on reverse. I have been unable to identify who it belongs to, though they are likely French. The portraits are signed 'Riviera' and 'Favre' beneath which seems to refer to who colored the engraving or designed the plate, as these were not the names of the original artists who created the oil paintings these images are based on. - Good condition with no cracks or chips.
