Description: This Vintage1997 Annalee Cornstalk with mini pumpkin( # 9029) was made in Meredith, New Hampshire. Although used, this doll is in like new condition, with the original packaging and tags, and was only used for display purposes at Halloween. Annalee dolls were the creation of Annalee Thorndike, (1915 – 2002) who first started creating dolls and puppets in 1933 to support herself. She put her doll making aside when she married Chip in 1941, and then restarted her doll making in 1950. In 1992 her son Chuck Thorndike assumed control of the family business. This vintage like new cornstalk was made in 1997, and was signed by Chuck and Karen Thorndike in 1998. Their signatures are shown on the pumpkin which is at the base of the cornstalk. The felt material used to make the doll is original and it does not show any wear. This doll would be a great addition to any collection and will make a wonderful decoration for the Halloween season. This Annalee doll is like new, does not have any wear and comes from a smoke and pet free environment
